Roti at AMOCA

What a wonderful opening reception out in Pomona, CA! I met so many great people, some who had never met Don or I and others who had long histories with both of us. I have been trying to process the whole experience over the last week, and I still am in shock that the opening has come and gone.

I'm so grateful to Heidi Kreitchet for proposing, curating, and promoting this show. It's been a lot of work leading up to this exhibition, but once I dropped the work off with Heidi, I knew the show was going to be great. Heidi is the American Museum Of Ceramic Arts's Studio Director and gallery coordinator for the Studio Artists' Gallery at AMOCA. She was also Don Reitz's assistant in the mid-2000's. She and I have become good friends, and this exhibition has brought us even closer.

The opening reception exceeded every expectation I had. Joan Takayama-Ogawa also had her opening reception for her exhibition titled "Climate Change". We both gave a small lecture to a large group of people that evening. AMOCA recorded video of the talks and I will be sure to post them as they become available.

It's hard to put into words what this show means to me, however, I'm so greatful I could share it with so many people. I look forward to seeing where this exhibition takes me in my career.
